Children are
faced with an overwhelming amount of stress. As a result of this stress,
children either indulge in unhealthy behaviors or become helpless. This
workshop offers effective coping strategies for facing stress related to
academic performance, high achievement standards, social media, peer pressure
and family tension. Building resilience in children encourages focusing on
natural strengths, fostering hope and optimism, avoiding risky behaviors and
improving self-esteem and self-perception. In particular, this course will
focus on the seven “C’s” needed for bouncing back from adversity: Competence,
Confidence, Connection, Character, Contribution, Coping and Control. Upon
competition of this course, providers will acquire a better understanding of
the importance of building resilience in children and will learn the proper use
of therapeutic tools that encourage leading therapy with self-empowerment and
mindfulness.
