How do you
handle your substance use client that shows signs of a concurrent eating
disorder? Research suggests that at least 35% of individuals who abuse drugs or
alcohol struggle with eating disorders. Additional research demonstrates that
individuals with either a substance use disorder or an eating disorder are more
than four times as likely to develop the other disorder than are individuals
who had neither disorder. Eating Disorders, like Substance use are influenced
by genetic, biological, environmental, and psychological factors. This workshop
will give you the tools to work with your client that struggles with both
substance use and eating disorders. Learn how to integrate effective treatment
of these co-occurring disorders for highly successful outcomes.
