Chronic pain
can be debilitating and limit the person's ability to function and enjoy life
on a daily basis. Research shows that
individuals with unresolved childhood trauma, mental health issues and brain
injuries have a much higher chance for the development of chronic pain after an
injury. Understanding the psychological
component to chronic pain can be the first step to moving past the opioid cycle
and back to a normal life.
