This training will be based on Franki Bagdade M. Ed. LLMSW’s unique parenting education method, "Therapeutic Parenting Support." This approach combines both parenting education and therapeutic support for parents struggling with their child's behavior, mental health or social-emotional well-being.  Nothing is more personal than parenting. As parents struggle with changing their perspective and accepting their own children they often wrestle with what they thought parenting would be like or who they thought their children would be…before they actually had them!  This program is based on Franki’s training in special education including behavioral modification, and her professional experience as a teacher, teacher consultant, camp director and therapist.  We will cover the three main pillars of this program including Right Sizing Your Expectations, Collaboratively Problem Solving with Your Children, and Emotional Regulation/De-escalation of Meltdowns/Tantrums.  Portions of Franki’s Book, “I Love My Kids but I Don’t Always Like Them” will be shared as a resource as well as parent worksheets and resource sheets that can be reproduced.
