Fear of the unknown can keep us where we no longer belong in our careers and can lead individuals to feeling stressed, stuck and overwhelmed by their work situations. As human service professionals, while we are committed to helping others, we may not know what truly inspires and fulfills us on a deep personal level. This workshop is designed to help individuals connect to their deeper purpose, while getting unstuck and feeling inspired again. This workshop will explore the developmental stages of life (milestones, familial & societal expectations) - what happens to us professionally and personally with each stage of life and how these changes may alter the way we feel about the work we do. During the workshop we will discuss the changing employment landscape (part time, contractual jobs), engage in a personal interest inventory of individual skills, goals, dreams, desires (getting to know yourself), while exploring potential ideas to get individuals thinking about intrapreneurial/entrepreneurial businesses. During this workshop attendees will engage in a mini-business plan exercise, learn the importance of personal supporters/cheerleaders and what steps to take if these individuals are not present or do not exist. Participants will also learn about community-based resources available for those interested in starting their own businesses. Part III of a 3-Session Cyber Social Work Series. Participants may take all 3 sessions for a reduced fee. Those attending all 3 Cyber Social Work sessions are eligible to earn and receive a Cyber Social Work Certificate.
