Self-care is a
very trendy buzzword. It evokes images of bubble baths, massages, and
manicures. However, self-care is much more than a mani-pedi, it is a
professional and ethical imperative for social workers. In this workshop you
will learn about various types of self-care and how self-care can be applied in
different areas of life. You will also learn about self-care’s important role
in preventing burnout, compassion fatigue, impaired judgment and potential
ethical violations. This workshop is interactive including Zoom breakout rooms,
self-care assessments, Zoom polls, and discussion. You will have the
opportunity to learn about and try a variety of mind-body-spirit practices for
self-care such as mindfulness, self-compassion, and yoga.
